Lots going on. Head spinning.

My friend Sezmra is helping me with a lot of design things, including an awesome book cover. (We’re still new at this and tinkering with it–Amazon does some unexpected things when scaling down to thumbnail size and such.) She’s also doing some revamps to the website, which I just noticed this morning! I have a mailing list popup and a Twitter feed embedded!

Your Name, In Fire will launch on March 15, and is available for pre-order: at Amazon. (On the very long to-do list: Overhaul the front page of site with a proper retail link button.) I need to get moving on a few other out outlets, notably iBooks.

Some indie publishing quirks: Amazon categories. For starters, Amazon either wants to put Romance as the book’s top level category–or not place it in romance at all. I can’t seem to get it to put Urban Fantasy at the top. There is a significant romantic arc, so I don’t want to leave it out of that category entirely. Hopefully I won’t have packs of traditional Romance fans hunting me down.

Meanwhile: The book, while still in pre-order, has cracked the top 100 of a category it doesn’t really belong in: TV, Movie, Video Game Adaptations. This is likely because of multiple video game references in the description. If it remains I will probably do the right thing and alert Amazon. For now it’s just kind of funny.

Real life/day job are also insisting on being quite demanding of my free time and attention. The very nerve. But in typical ‘life’ fashion, everything always happens at once.
